Suggested Beers to try at Dominion City Brewing Co..
IPA - New England / Hazy
This beer features massive tropical hop flavour, balanced bitterness, expressive yeast character and rich malt body. Sunsplit was brewed with loads of oats, intemperate hopping rates and features a deliberately hazy pour. Keep cold and enjoy fresh.
IPA - American
Two Flags is an assertively hoppy, deliberately well-balanced and highly drinkable India Pale Ale. Brewed with 100% locally-grown Cascade hops from family farms in Ontario and Western Québec. Keep cold and enjoy fresh.
Blonde / Golden Ale - Other
In a nod to Canada’s great brewing tradition, we brewed a refreshing, easy-drinking blonde ale that’s perfect for any occasion. Like its namesake, Town & Country is about contrast; combining soft malty sweetness with a mild and citrusy hop crispness.
Farmhouse Ale - Saison
This is our reimagining of a rustic agrarian beer style from the French-speaking Wallonian region of southern Belgium. Brewed with fresh zested oranges and Bridgehead organic Earl Grey tea, Dominion City Earl Grey Marmalade Saison pours a distinctive rusty copper colour with a delicious bergamot aroma . Flavours include contrasting fruity, spicy and tart notes with phenolic and fruity esters complementing a dry, moderately bitter finish.
Pale Ale - New England / Hazy
Dedicated to the memory of Don McJannett, a life-long paper salesman who always understood the value of hard work. Let this beer be your reward for an honest day’s effort. Juicy, soft and hazy, this APA is loaded with mango hop flavour.
Dry-Hopped with Azacca & Mosaic®.
Farmhouse Ale - Saison
Loaded with fresh Ontario grown rhubarb and pumped full of juicy raspberries, this farmhouse ale is tailor made for a warm day outside. Earthy, spicy, crisp and dry yeast notes complement tart rhubarb and raspberry character. This beer pours a pleasant deep pink with rose-coloured head. Extremely refreshing.
IPA - Imperial / Double
Hopped with copious amounts of Citra® and Mosaic® this beer features Pilsner, oat malt and spelt to provide a creamy mouthfeel.
Pilsner - Other
Civic Pilsner is our nod to simplicity. Brewed with German pilsner malt and generously hopped with Czech Saaz, this lager is crisp, dry and refreshing with an elegant hop aroma that features subtle notes of thyme and floral mint.
Stout - Imperial / Double
Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels for one year.
Brown Ale - English
Earnscliffe blends caramel and biscuit malt notes with mild earthy hop aroma. This beer is named for the residence of Canada’s first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald; now home to the British High Commissioner to Canada. Sounds stodgy; tastes bloody brilliant.
Stout - Oatmeal
Named for Ottawa's fabled beer train, rumoured to be buried somewhere beneath Lebreton Flats at the former site of Canadian beer baron E.P. Taylor's Bradings Brewery, Lost Train is full-bodied with notes of rich chocolate, roasted coffee and dark grains. Ottawa-grown organic oats contribute a deliciously silky smoothness.
Lager - Pale
This lager was brewed with locally grown 2-row malt from Barn Owl Malt and heritage corn from Against the Grain Farm.
IPA - Imperial / Double
Like the legislative tactic for which this beer is named, Filibuster invites you to sit back and relax. Just don’t plan on anything productive happening for awhile. Loaded with juicy hop flavour, tropical aroma and still refreshing despite a considerable malt body, this double IPA will get you talking.
Generously hopped with Denali and Wakatu.
Pale Ale - American
1971 is named in honour of the We Demand protest, the first public demonstration for LGBTQ+ rights in Canada. Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Saw Gallery, a portion of the proceeds support children and youth from LGBTQ+ families through the Ten Oaks Project.
Farmhouse Ale - Saison
Our foeder-fermented Brett saison is bone dry with a cornucopia of complex funk and fruit notes, including pear, white peach, lemon and spice.
IPA - New England / Hazy
This IPA was brewed with our hand-selected Citra® from Yakima, Washington.
Farmhouse Ale - Saison
Hop-forward and refreshing, this beer was fermented in stainless with a clean strain of Saison yeast. Enjoy fresh.
Hop accented with Mistral, Saphir and Strisselspalt.
Pale Ale - American
This beer is from where we’re from. Made with floor-malted Ontario-grown barley and cascade hops grown the shores of Lake Erie
Brown Ale - American
Brown Ales are delicious. Too often they don't get the respect they deserve. We're proud to share our take on this delicious style with you just in time for fading Summer nights. This beer balances caramel and toasted nut malt character against apricot and papaya hop aroma.
IPA - Imperial / Double
Our double IPA features an ever-changing selection of the best Ontario-grown hops we can source to achieve massive pineapple and tropical fruit aromatics. This beer is rich and pillowy with balanced bitterness.
Pale Ale - American
Brewed with Australian Summer and Simcoe hops, this beer is loaded with passion fruit aromatics and notes of ripe apricot, melon and peach.
Sour - Fruited Gose
Gose is an ancient sour beer style traditionally brewed with sea salt and coriander. We reimagined the style with a generous mélange of berries inspired by that Summer Canadian Maritime classic, the Bumbleberry pie. Brewed with Nova Scotia sea salt, this beer is tart, refreshing and brimming with vibrant fresh fruit.
With over 1,500lbs of fruit, this beer was fruited at a rate of more than 1.5lbs/gallon.
IPA - American
Brewed for the city we love on our fifth anniversary, a portion of the proceeds from this can will support welcoming services for refugee claimants here in Ottawa.
Brewed in classic DCBC style and dry hopped judiciously with Nelson Sauvin and Citra. Safer Shores is quite possibly one of our tastiest IPA to date - huge aromatics of fresh peaches and berries, a super soft and fluffy body and just enough bitterness to get you reaching for your glass immediately after you put it down.
IPA - American
The Leader of the Government is ordinarily the leader of the party with the greatest number of seats in the House of Commons. Appointed by the Governor General, they are responsible to the House for the administration of public affairs. (Source: Parliament of Canada)
Stout - Other
Full bodied with fruity esters, cocoa and dark fruit sweetness with that classic stouty goodness. Fit for drinking on a Halifax pier.
